College Scholarships
The Hammond Foundation provides an annual scholarship program for minority high school students in Loudoun County, Virginia and St. Johns County, Florida. The scholarships are aimed at helping students achieve their full potential by ensuring they have the funds to attend college. Administered by the United Negro College Fund, the scholarships are given to students who:
  • Are accepted into a college or university
  • Have demonstrated a strong desire to excel, and
  • Have a financial need.
In the 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 school years, a total of thirty-one $2,500 scholarships were awarded to Loudoun County, VA and St. Johns County, FL high school seniors. The Foundation hopes to launch similar scholarship programs in other Virginia and Florida counties in the coming school years. In 2008, the Foundation launched the scholarship programs in St. Johns County, Florida.
